Earlier this week, you heard about a 2nd grade student in Loveland that was suspended after he threw an imaginary grenade. Sound ridiculous, right? Well, as a surprise to no one, it appears there is more to the story...

Who hasn't thunk it? One thing we are raised knowing is how to not spread germs so what better way than to blow out birthday candles and share the joy. Australia today announced they now have a solution for this rampant problem.

As a mother the thought of guns in our schools scares me, period. Whether the gun totter is a trained teacher or a deranged psychopath. But with today's news of another rampage, my mind may be getting a bit more open to the idea.

What has gone wrong in America? How did we get to where we are? As much as I love a good conspiracy, what has been going around about the Sandy Hook shooting is just going to far. Now one man, a hero to many that day, is now being portrayed as a villain. It's just makes me sick.

Today marked the first legal action taken in the midst of the tragedy that took the lives of 26 children and adults two weeks ago at Sandy Hook School in Connecticut. You may however be surprised at who is being sued and the reason why may shock you as well.

It's hard for most of us to conceive the evil notions that go through someone's mind while planning and carrying out a plan like the one last Friday in Connecticut or the tragedy in West Virginia, the two deadliest school "shootings" but neither was worse than the actual "massacre" that took place at the Bath Consolidated School in 1927.

I continue to struggle with the idea of school districts passing laws to allow guns in our schools, in the name of protecting our kids. Realistically, who do you think should be able to carry weapons in our schools?

A tiny school district in Texas will pass a law that will allow teachers and school staff to carry weapons on school property later this month.

Windsor Middle School Principal Doug Englert has been arrested on assault charges and is now on paid administrative leave. The charges against Englert were unrelated to his position as principal of Windsor Middle School or any of its students.

A junior high student  from Fort Collins has finished 3rd in a national essay contest. Catherine Choi placed 3rd in the 8th grade division of the National Daughters of the American Revolution Essay Contest.  Catherine is at student at Saint Joseph Catholic School in Fort Collins. Her topic: "Young America Takes a Stand: The War of 1812.
