A junior high student  from Fort Collins has finished 3rd in a national essay contest. Catherine Choi placed 3rd in the 8th grade division of the National Daughters of the American Revolution Essay Contest.  Catherine is at student at Saint Joseph Catholic School in Fort Collins. Her topic: "Young America Takes a Stand: The War of 1812.

According to a press release from Saint Joseph Catholic School:

Catherine won 1st place in the statewide/southwest division before moving on to the national competition.  Choi was honored at the regional winner luncheon in Denver earlier this month.

The annual contest sponsored by the Cache la Poudre Chapter of DAR, takes place every fall.  It is open to students from grades 5 to 8 in both public and private schools.
