Windsor Middle School Principal Doug Englert has been arrested on assault charges and is now on paid administrative leave.  The charges against Englert were unrelated to his position as principal of Windsor Middle School or any of its students.

According to the Greeley Tribune:  Windsor police arrested Englert at his home on Thursday on charges of assault involving injury and child abuse. The victim was taken to the hospital and treated. Englert has been the principal at Windsor Middle School for 18 years. He was released from jail  on his own recognizance.

Vice principal Eric Johnson was named as acting principal. Mr. Johnson sent a letter to parents after the arrest.

District 4 Superintendent Karen Trusler also sent a letter to parents.
