They are older than the country itself. The United States Army, protecting our borders, constitution and flag since 1775. Recently, the Army has suffered more casualties overseas than any other branch of the military so today, on Flag Day, make sure to thank the Army Veteran in your life.

It's been said for centuries that certain animals have healing power. I believe the horse is one of those animals. Like other animals, they do in fact seem to have souls and feelings and in some way connect with those around them.

June 6, 1944. A day all of us are tied to in one way or the other. It was 69 years ago today that one of the largest 'single day' invasions in military history took place. Here are some interesting facts:

The'Salute to American Veterans Rally' is coming up on August 16-18 What better place than Cripple Creek Colorado to attend a rally in honor of our past, present and future soldiers.

Memorial Day marks the beginning of Summer, camping and the tasty BBQ season. But it should be a stark reminder to us all that Memorial Day is not about camping and BBQ's at all; it's a time to reflect on those who sacrificed their lives so that we may have the freedom we have to do all these things this weekend. As we enjoy our freedom this week, let's all take a moment to remember those soldiers who are not with us.

This comes on short notice but I will be taking the show on the road tomorrow and would love to see you all come by and say hello and view the Vietnam Memorial Travelling Wall which will be in place through Monday.

I personally think there is nothing more beautiful than our American Flag at Sunset and to make that even more special, it's always nice to let you know that another week has gone by and we have no one Killed In Action to report. How do you top news like that?

February means Valentines Day and the week of February 10-16 is also National Salute to Veteran Patients Week. Sadly, it's a week that will come and go with little notice. Let's try and change that.

I had the chance to visit the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. back when I was 14, and it was a humbling experience. And now the traveling Vietnam Wall is coming to Fort Collins in May. When and where can you see it?

As another Thanksgiving comes around, I find myself more thankful this year than ever.
