Forty-two firefighters battled for almost an hour to get a three-alarm fire under control yesterday morning. No was injured in the fire at the Buffalo Run Apartments, on East Lincoln Ave.

Thanks to a fire sprinkler, a fire at a Fort Collins business park was contained and did not spread yesterday morning. Poudre Fire Authority Firefighters responded to a report of smoke coming off the roof and a fire alarm sounding at at Berken Energy, In the Prospect East Business Park at 2400 Midpoint Drive.

An elderly man was rescued from a burning garage in west Fort Collins yesterday. The unidentified resident who was attempting to extinguish the fire was helped to escape by a home health care employee, a City of Fort Collins Utilities employee and a neighbor.

Fort Collins Police Chief John Hutto and Poudre Fire Authority Fire Chief Tom DeMint were joined by a bunch of Fort Collins Police employees in the annual Polar Plunge fundraiser benefiting Special Olympics Colorado. Chief DeMint sent Todd Harding some pics that he said we could share with you!

Police save two dogs from a burning home on South Wabash Street in Fort Collins prior to the arrival firefighters who responded to a small kitchen fire over the weekend.

An electrical fire started yesterday morning at the 1st National Bank building at Boardwalk and College in Fort Collins. An electrician was burned in the fire that was put out by an activated fire sprinkler.

Most fires can be prevented, like the house fire in Fort Collins over the weekend. Poudre Fire Authority quickly extinguished the fire in the 3800 block of Platte Drive in Fort Collins on Sunday. The fire  had burned into the attic from the fence and outside of the home...

The Poudre Fire Authority and Fort Collins Police are investigating a suspicious fire at the Valero One Stop gas station on West Elizabeth in the Campus West area of Fort Collins. The business was closed at the time and nobody was inside.

Have you hugged a firefighter lately?  The City of Fort Collins has declared August  "Poudre Fire Authority Appreciation Month" because of their amazing work on the High Park Fire west of Fort Collins.

A 64 year-old woman and her dog died after a fire in her home on Monday night in Fort Collins. The victim was transported her to Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland and then flown to University of Colorado Hospital in Denver, where she was pronounced dead.

Poudre Fire Authority is still mourning the loss of one of our own after a tragic accident on Saturday. Firefighter Paul Gaucher was off-duty when he died of injuries resulting from a motorcycle crash in the Red Feather Lakes area. Memorial services are planned for tomorrow.

If you are wondering about that smoke west of Fort Collins over the weekend, about 1 ½ acres burned near Davis Ranch Road and Rist Canyon Road on Saturday afternoon.   The Larimer County Sheriff’s Department reported that a shed or barn and a trailer were destroyed in the blaze and nobody was injured. Thanks to the Poudre Fire Authority and Rist Canyon Fire, the blaze is now 100% contained. Read M
