I've always believed that educators are the cornerstone of our society. They are the people responsible for sculpting the minds of the next generation. It's not an easy job!

Not only are they actually teaching our kids, but for the majority of the day they act as stand in parents and caregivers.

They can be role models, therapists, and disciplinarians.

If you couldn't tell, I've got a bit of a soft spot for teachers. I know I wouldn't be where I am today without a few talented and caring educators to guide me.

My sister is a high school teacher and the stories that she shares with me about the triumphs and frustrations she faces every single day astound me.

How can ONE person do so much for SO MANY students?

Colorado Teacher Pay: How It Compares Nationally

According to data from Niche, the average American public school teacher with over 30 years of experience makes approximately $64,820.

In Colorado, new teachers start out making about $32,980, and the average salary for all teachers across the state is $46,506.

This ranks Colorado second to last in starting teacher pay and fourth lowest in overall average salary among all 50 states.
