Due to the inclement weather from Wednesday (Jan. 19) which continues to pose poor travel conditions for many parts of Northern Colorado, Colorado State University - as well as multiple school districts - have made the decision to operate on a delayed start Thursday (Jan. 20).

Districts/Schools Affected By Thursday's Delayed Start:

  • Colorado State University

On Wednesday night, CSU officials announced via Twitter that the university would not start operations Thursday until 10 a.m. at all Larimer County campuses due to yesterday's storm in Northern Colorado that has since made roads difficult for travel.

The announcement states that "the decision was based on information from weather forecasts through mid-morning Thursday."

  • Poudre School District

A little over an hour after CSU announced their shift to a delayed start for Thursday, Poudre School District followed suit, stating Wednesday night that due to inclement road conditions around the district, PSD and its associated schools will start two hours later than usual.

The district noted in their announcement that breakfast would not be served Thursday, buses will operate on the delayed schedule - however, all PSD schools will dismiss at their normal times Thursday.

As far as before/after-school child care is concerned, the district stated that AlphaBEST will not be open for before-school care but will operate as normal for after-school services.
