On August 13th, four African lion cubs (one boy and three girls) were born at the Denver Zoo.
In a report from 9News, this is the fourth lion generation born here in a decade.

The African lion population is in decline, according to Global Conservation. Over the last three generations, their numbers have "plummeted" by over 40%.

With numbers like that, stories of healthy lion cubs are a welcome sight for conservationists.

Zoo officials confirm that everything seems to be going right on schedule for these cubs.
For the past seven weeks, the furry babies have been bonding with their mom. Visitors haven't been able to see this because it's been going on behind the scenes.
Apparently they're big fans of climbing, chasing, and "discovering this new space!"

Public Can Now See the Denver Zoo Lion Cubs in Person
The Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance allowed visitors to get their first glimpse of the adorable big cats on Thursday, October 9th.
Now, these four cubs will be viewable to the public, but only at specific times.
When and Where to See the Denver Zoo’s Lion Cubs
You can visit their mother, Araali and the full fluffy squad from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM in the Maternity Yard at Pahali Ya Simba every day.
"As they get more comfortable in their space, their outdoor time may extend, but their dedicated care team will ensure they get plenty of rest behind the scenes as well," Denver Zoo officials said in a social media statement.
