
Colorado Ranks Near the Bottom for Driving in U.S.
I would have to say that one of the smartest things I have ever done is install a dashcam on every vehicle we own, because it's always smart to C-Y-A, especially when it comes to auto accidents.
It's no surprise that many people dread the thought of driving anywhere in Colorado due to all of the wild and crazy drivers. Drivers on their phones while doing 20 miles an hour over the speed limit on the interstate? Yeah, it's quite a common thing you see in Colorado.
WalletHub Rankings and Colorado
WalletHub recently dropped its list of the best and worst states when it comes to driving, and Colorado ranks near the bottom. There are four key factors on which rankings are based. Cost of ownership and maintenance, traffic and infrastructure, safety, and access to vehicles and maintenance.

Colorado ranked 45th on the list with an overall score of 51.68. We scored the best when it came to access to vehicles and maintenance, with a 15th-place ranking. What I find to be the most confusing is that certain out-of-state plates in Colorado have been notorious for bad driving. To my surprise, Texas ranked number 13 as one of the best states for driving.
Driving is an experience all its own, but it does come with some headaches and responsibilities. Some of the many factors drivers have to consider include regular maintenance, road conditions, and insurance costs. Some of those factors can quickly suck the joy right out of the ride.
The Worst States to Drive In
The worst states to drive in include Maryland, California, Montana, and Washington. Hawaii was the worst state to drive in, mainly due to factors related to the cost of ownership, access to vehicles, and maintenance.
