The Oldest Restaurants You Can Still Eat At In Northern Colorado

Northern Colorado has been around for a very long time. Most cities were established in the 1800's. Holy cow.

After living here my whole life, I've seen some great resturaunts come and go. There are some restaurants I was shocked to find out have shut their doors. Losing your favorite place to eat can be traumatizing (exaggeration).

Let's take a look at the places that have been able to stay open and why. It's the oldest resturaunts in Northern Colorado, and I'm drooling just thinking of each one on the list.

Silver Grill

Heading up the list has to be the iconic Silver Grill in downtown Fort Collins. Known for their ginormous cinnamon rolls and incredible breakfast selections, the Silver Grill opened way back in 1933, making it a whopping ninety-three years old.

Vern's Place

LaPorte is a small town, but on most weekends their beloved resturaunts have a wait. The joint opened way back in 1946, which means Northern Colorado has been taking the trip to LaPorte to eat at Vern's.

Known for their hearty breakfasts and comfort foods like chicken fried steak (my personal favorite). After almost eighty years, this place still stands strong.

Bruce's Bar

The opening date was way back in the 1950s, which means people have been eating Rocky Mountain Oysters for decades.

Many regard Bruce's Bar in Severance as a motorcycle bar, but it's also a great location for family meals. With live music and pool tables, Bruce's Bar will forever be a Northern Colorado staple.

Those are just a few of Northern Colorado's historic resturaunts everyone should try at least once.
