By 2030, it is estimated that Colorado’s population will grow to 6,386,548 residents.

That is nearly a million more residents than what we had a few years ago.

Is Colorado Gaining or Losing Residents?

USA Today unveiled a list of population rankings across the county. They listed which states had the most and least residents move to a new state. They also decided on the ranked based on the latest data.

Colorado’s 2024 Population Growth in Numbers

Colorado ranked 21st on the list. This means that we had the 21st most dramatic change. Colorado had a .62% population increase.

The data does not tell us if the new residents moved to Colorado or if the new residents are families welcoming more children.

Either way, Colorado’s population grew to 5,914,180 residents by the end of 2024. In 2023, Colorado’s population was 5,877,610. We welcomed 36,570 residents to Colorado.

According to the listing, Nebraska has a .52 percent decrease in population.

Our good neighbors in Wyoming had a .42% increase and added 2,000 new residents.
