According to a recent study by 2-10.com, 94% of homeowners plan on doing a DIY project around the house this year. 33% of people are replacing appliances, and 87% are planning to do cosmetic projects. The room getting worked on most, according to the study, is the bathroom, where 39% say they will be working this year, with 37% doing DIY projects in the kitchen and 36% doing tasks in the living room. The average budget spent on these projects is $2,771, and the average time it takes to complete them is 3 weeks. This is much cheaper and quicker than using many experts.

While fixing up little things here and there is one thing, renovating a home is entirely different. Still, many homeowners are planning to do so themselves. According to the study, only 50% of homeowners are hiring professionals. The kitchen is the area most will be renovating, with 44% doing so, 40% doing the bathroom, and 32% doing the outdoors. For these types of projects, it is more expensive, and the average budget is $5,933, and the average time to complete these renovations is 5 weeks, which isn't too shabby. Homeowners are taking things into their own hands and finding ways to save money and complete their projects in a quick fashion. 61% said social media inspired them to begin doing DIY projects around the home.
