I can't even tell you how many hours were spent organizing this event and when Mother Nature called a few days before our original weekend to plant we wondered how it would all go. Although we still planned on 50-75 to show up and help, it only took about 30 to do the work of a 100 people.

If you used a mobile device or tablet to register to vote, you may not be registered after all. Secretary of State Scott Gessler says hundreds of Coloradans may not be registered to vote if they used a mobile device or tablet to register to vote at GoVoteColorado.com . The problem affects fewer than 800 first-time voters who registered to vote at the website between Sept. 14th and Sept. 24th.

Recent rains have caused the U.S. Forest Service to lift its fire ban on national forest land in Larimer County.

The Larimer County’s High Park Fire Disaster Recovery Center, on the CSU campus, will close tomorrow on (Friday, July 6th at 4p.m.) The DRC has seen over 1500 people come through the Center since opening on June 15th, with over 600 individual households checked-in and over 250 households visiting the center more than once.

Larimer County has proposed some changes to annual vehicle and boating permits, so The Board of Larimer County Commissioners have scheduled a public hearing for tonight (Monday, June 11th) to get input on the proposed changes.

When I left for work early yesterday morning from Fort Collins, you could smell the smoke in the air from the Hewlett Fire, which has burned over 982 acres.  When I arrived home from work in the early afternoon you could see giant plumes of smoke.  It wasn't long before you could see it, smell it, taste it, & feel it!

The Hewlett Fire, burning in the Poudre Canyon west of Fort Collins, shows just how dry it is right now.  Those dangerous conditions have prompted Larimer County Commissioners to extend fire restrictions on open fires, the use of fireworks, and public fireworks displays through June 15th.
