Hello to all that partake in this biographical journey! My name is Kama. I am a wife and a mom as well as the midday voice on 99.9 The Point in Northern Colorado and Southern Wyoming. My parents were some crazy hippies back in the day. I grew up in the Durango area (Bayfield) without electricity, a telephone, or cable, and I was home-schooled until 5th grade. But I always had radio. My dad was a local DJ and use to dedicate songs to his favorite daughter… There stemmed my love for the job. I’ve lived in Northern Colorado for 9 years and I love it here. I am a music fanatic, I love how music feels and what it does to my soul. My favorite artists include, but are not limited to Band of Horses, Michael Franti, Bob Schneider, Brandi Carlile, Incubus, My Morning Jacket, Audioslave, Modest Mouse, Sam Cooke, Muse, Collective Soul, Gary Allan, Your Vegas, Tegan & Sara and anything with a great drum beat, real sound and energy. I am an advocate for families who have fun together, home birth, breastfeeding, recycling and listening to music old and new and in all genres before you rule it out.  I love mint, black licorice, coffee, travel shows, dirt roads, camping, road trips, 5 Barrel beer (Odells), red wine, yellow tulips, my cat Hobbs, my dog Bella, my husband Anthony, my daughter Tula Rose, singing loudly in the sunshine, painting stuff, cooking, dancing, garlic, the color red, accessories and music!!!  I like finding out how people become who they are, being outdoors and slowing life down.

Enthusiastic CSU Men’s Basketball Coach Tim Miles accepted an offer yesterday to coach for the Nebraska Cornhuskers next year. After leading CSU to the NCAA tournament this year, this is a real loss for CSU. We can only hope Miles’ replacement can keep the enthusiasm of the team going.
