When we think about bears in the winter, we normally picture them deep in a cave away from all of the snow and cold weather. One Grizzly Bear at a Colorado zoo had other plans during the snowstorm on Thursday afternoon.

The video posted on X by Denver 7, shared by Cheyenne Mountain Zoo shows one of the Grizzly Bears taking in the moment and catching snowflakes on his tongue. The 19-year-old Grizzly Bear named Emmett is seen in the video seemingly laid back and catching a vibe from the snow.

Emmett is one of two Grizzly Bears at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. The Southern Colorado zoo took in both Grizzly Bears in 2007 as they were both labeled nuisance bears after numerous negative interactions with humans before being removed from the wild. The two bears, Emmett and Digger, are considered lucky as nuisance bears are often relocated, or worse, euthanized according to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.

Grizzly Bears are native to the Rocky Mountain region, however, they are not part of the wildlife found in the state of Colorado. The Grizzly Bears at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo live active and comfortable lives while being kept away from the temptations of garbage and other human food that got them both labeled as nuisance bears in the first place.
