This means that some mail and packages may take longer than others. USPS will try to reduce costs by what they call elimination of unnecessary facilities and lowering transportation costs.

When This Will Begin in Colorado

Parcel and Postal Technology International says that these changes will happen over time. For example, the first wave of the United Postal Service tightening up their costs will begin on April 1. It is not clear how long that cost-cutting will last. All we know is that a second wave of cost-cutting was announced for July 1.

Newsweek says that the United States Postal Service has lost more than $100 billion in the past 17 years. The goal for the United States Postal Service is to find a way to cut costs without having a major government bailout.
