A storm that produced hundreds, if not thousands of lightning bolts, heavy rain, and large hail pelted parts of Northern Colorado on Tuesday, May 28. I decided to take the trash to the curb at approximately 9:30 p.m. and noticed storm clouds off in the distance to the east. Since it was quite a nice light show, I stood around and spoke with my neighbor across the street for a bit while watching the storm.

Moments later, I told him I had a bad feeling about this storm... Turns out I was right. Not long after, the raindrops began to fall, and within minutes, so did the hail. I quickly pulled my truck into the garage and what happened next was nothing short of anxiety-inducing chaos from the sky.

The sky opened up and dropped the largest hail I have seen in recent history. In Johnstown, we saw hail stones larger than a quarter pelt everything in sight. The streets filled with rain water like a river and the hail smashed into the rushing water like a stone being thrown into a lake.
