The City of Greeley is a thriving local community featuring local rodeos, thriving businesses, and a glittering nightlife scene. Greeley is home to the University of Northern Colorado as well as the Greeley Stampede, which takes place in June and July.
Greeley was named after Horace Greeley, who was a politician and the editor of the New-York Tribune. It was founded as the Union Colony in 1869.
