Skiing and snowboarding season is here. I have not snowboarded in quite some time, but I plan on returning to the slopes in Colorado next season.

When I was snowboarding a lot, I had certain fears that most likely hindered my skill level, but after hearing about what happened at Keystone Ski Resort, maybe some of those odd fears were valid.

Chairlift Incident in Colorado

A fear that I always had was falling off of the chairlift. I remember my friends teasing me about it. However, a snowboarder recently fell off of a lift.

The 32-year-old snowboarder reportedly was adjusting his gear and lost his grip. The snowboarder then fell, caught himself on the lift, tried to pull himself up, and ultimately fell 47 feet onto the mountain that did not have a lot of snowpack.

The status of the snowboarder in Colorado is currently unknown. We hope and wish him the best in his recovery. Once that status has changed, we will provide an official update.

What we do know is that he was thankfully wearing a helmet and he was transported to a hospital near Denver.

The incident happened on December 11. It is a reminder to be cautious on the chairlift and the slopes. It is also a reminder to have caution and remember that an injury can result from your day on the mountain.
