Massive Ferris Wheel Proposed for Downtown Denver’s Skyline
A few years back, we took a trip to London, England. The city was amazing, we did a lot of walking, sightseeing, and enjoying the local cuisine.
While we ventured around London, I had this itch to take a ride on the modern marvel known as the London Eye. A nearly 445-foot-tall Ferris wheel is placed right in the middle of London. It's a city skyline staple on nearly every postcard, photo, and Instagram selfie when visiting the city.

There are other large Ferris wheels across the United States, and many of them show a bird's-eye view of the skyline and the surrounding city. The closest thing that Denver, Colorado, has is the observation tower at Elitch Gardens.
The Skyline of Denver Could be Changing Soon
However, that could soon change. A non-profit created by former investigative journalist Ryan Ross wants to spearhead the revitalization of downtown Denver with the New Downtown Denver project.
The Vision Behind the Rocky Mountain Eye
The vision that Ross has is great, but there is one project that stands above the rest, literally. A towering Ferris wheel that would stand 500 feet into the skyline of Denver. Rotating at two miles per hour, 30 cabins on the Ferris wheel could hold 25 passengers, which could take in Denver in all of its Mile High glory and the views of the entire Front Range of Colorado.

This proposed Rocky Mountain Eye Ferris wheel wouldn't just be a summer attraction either. The glass-encased cabins would be heated and offer surreal Colorado views every day of the year, no matter what the temperature. Check out the concept photos below:
