Is it Too Soon For Halloween in Colorado Stores?

The Fourth of July is fading away day by day, and the calendar shows no major holidays coming up anytime soon. Labor Day is next, but to most, that marks the unofficial end of summer and the start of football season. In terms of major holidays, Halloween would be next on the schedule, and some don't even consider that one, and would say Thanksgiving is the next major holiday. For some, Halloween is their favorite holiday, and they can't wait to start shopping, decorating, and planning costumes, if they haven't begun doing so already. Is July too early for stores to begin selling Halloween merchandise, or should they wait until it is closer in Colorado?

There are still weeks until school starts, nearly two months until football season begins, and a way to go until fall starts, yet stores are already beginning to roll out Halloween merchandise. When the temperatures are in triple digits, most are thinking about days at the pool, the lake, or summer vacation instead of what to wear on Halloween, months away. Some stores, like Costco already have out decorations and costumes for little ones to choose. This can be tough on parents, as kids begin getting excited, despite having to wait over three months until the holiday. July seems too soon to be thinking about Halloween. Some will agree, because their kids don't understand time and why they can't get their costume now when it is already in stores. If not now, when should stores begin selling Halloween merchandise?

With some agreeing that July is too soon, when is the proper time to start selling Halloween merchandise, and when is the right time to start decorating? Some will argue that any time of year is the right time, but not everyone is obsessed with Halloween like others are. Most, likely are not thinking about Halloween until school is back in session, and perhaps until football season begins, since Halloween takes place in the middle of the season. The beginning of September seems like a proper time to begin thinking about the holiday, with the beginning of October as a good time to begin decorating. This is my opinion, but not everyone will agree.
