Naked Train Surfer Arrested in Colorado County
I feel like 2026 has been an odd year. If we all had a bingo card for the 365 days, there would be some boxes for days you wouldn't think to check. Oddly enough, we have a story to tell you about coming out of Sedgwick County, Colorado, that would have been an odd entry on the year's bingo card.
Arizona Man Arrested After Bizarre Colorado Train Stunt
According to the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office, a man from Quartzsite, Arizona, visited the Colorado county and ended up getting arrested. What did he do? How about surfing on a train in the nude? Yep, that actually happened.

The shenanigans pulled by Daniel Ray Ballance got him arrested on both felony and misdemeanor charges. Ballance allegedly broke a window on a Union Pacific Railroad locomotive, got inside, and blew the horn, while showing a little more than expected to others while he was passing by.
For those of you who had the unfortunate experience of seeing this gentleman surfing naked on top of a moving locomotive yesterday, I want you to know that he was arrested on felony and misdemeanor charges.

Apparently, Daniel Ray Ballance expressed his love of vodka, beer, and playing the banjo to deputies. Needless to say, he was separated from all of those things he holds dear while he is sitting in jail.
