The Best Views In Colorado Without The Hiking Part
Some of us aren't into hiking. That includes me, and living in Colorado, sometimes it actually feels like a sin. But I still like looking at beautiful things. I'm not a monster.
Here are a few places where you can join the view without sweating profusely.
Horsetooth Reservoir
Don't make the mistake of thinking Horsetooth is primarily for hiking, and you have to walk vertically to enjoy the views.
Even the drive up to Horsetooth is scenic with winding roads overlooking the entire town of Fort Collins and even some surrounding towns. And on the other side, you'll see Horsetooth Reservoir below.
CSU Annual Flower Trail Gardens
Lovely, lovely, lovely. That's what you'll say when you step out of your car and behold the splendor that is the CSU Annual Flower Trail Gardens.
You'll see one thousand varieties of flowers and plants as far as the eye can see. There are also little trails to walk through and information about each plant.
And it's FREE.
Estes Park
This is the perfect situation because you get the mountains and you don't have to climb any of them. See what I'm saying? Just drive up the mountain, park, and get out and walk down the main street of Estes.
There are also some very sweet breweries and resturaunts in town, and since you aren't climbing up a rocky, vertical trail, you can afford to get a little tipsy.
You've earned it.
Garden of the Gods
An iconic Colorado destination that you can see from the comfort of your own car. Enjoy a 5.5-mile driving route and look at some three hundred million-year-old sandstone formations. It's cray cray.
It's also free to get in.
That's it. The places in Colorado that you can see with zero hiking.
