One Dead In Fire At Weld County Oil Site
Firefighters were responding to a fire at an oil site just east of Windsor on Wednesday when a man was found dead.
Windsor-Severance Fire Chief Kris Kazian told The Denver Channel that they arrived to an active fire, and began to put it out. Firefighters noticed a workers truck but couldn't find the operator. They began to look for him and found him deceased on top of one of the burning fuel cells.
After rescuing the man, Windsor-Severence Fire chief Kris Kazian said this:
"Unfortunately he has perished and we have turned the scene over to the coroner as it relates to that matter."
Firefighters from Front Range Fire, Greeley, Eaton all joined in to help the Windsor-Severance crew put out the fire. Fortunately, no one else was hurt in the fire.
The Denver Channel is reporting that the oil site is owned by Great Western Petroleum.
