I have a feeling if you did a survey that many people would choose to make Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA" our national anthem. That songs just hits you right in your patriotic heart. There are so many who get the title screwed up and call it "Proud to be American" but they know the lyrics non the less.

This song has played such a part in uniting us during the hard times and good times that we as a nation have encountered. It was 32 years ago today, back in 1984, that MCA Records released Lee Greenwood's unofficial anthem. I remember after the attacks of 9/11 singing this song at the top of our lungs to show our unity. I can tell you that as my friends and I stood in front of the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka and sang this at the top of our lungs in face of anti-American hate, was one of the proudest moments of my life. God Bless the USA!
