PVH vs. MCR: Which Northern Colorado Hospital Is Best
I think we can agree that having to stay in the hospital is rough. Whether you're having a baby, getting a bone set in the ER, or getting medical treatment for an issue. It's a pretty universal pain in the butt.
The two major hospitals in Northern Colorado are Poudre Valley Hospital (PVH) and The Medical Center of The Rockies (MCR).
So what are some differences between the two? Let's take a look.
Poudre Valley Hospital
Poudre Valley Hospital opened way back in 1925, which means if you're a local, odds are you were delivered there. I was, which made having my babies there very special.
It's located in Fort Collins and has a Level 3 trauma center and 270 beds.
This was my go-to when driving my three kiddos, and they were amazing every time. Did you know that PVH plays a lullaby over the loudspeaker every time a baby is born? It's so sweet and charming, and I couldn't wait for it to play after I gave birth because that meant I was done giving birth. IYKYK.
What are they known for? An amazing birthing center, a top-notch cancer care center, a successful rehabilitation program, and a NICU.
Medical Center of the Rockies
Located in Loveland, MCR has been open since 2007, and it's a beautiful facility. I had back surgery there, and it was seriously like staying at a resort. The staff was incredibly kind, and there's a very nice outdoor zen area complete with a soothing water fountain and beautiful zero scaping.
MCR also had a level-one trauma center (the highest level in the region). Also, MCR is a regional leader in heart care and top-notch stroke and spine care.
So rest assured, if you're having health issues, you have two very strong options for care.
