200 Firefighter Jobs Open in Colorado: Here’s How To Apply
The summer of 2024 included more than a few tense wildfire moments in Colorado. Thirteen wildfires grew to a size of at least 1000 acres in 2024, resulting in the loss of more than 42,000 acres.

From the Alexander Mountain Fire in Laramie County to the wildfires near Grand Junction, Delta, and Montrose, Coloradans witnessed hundreds of firefighters bravely battling during the peak of summer heat. Now Colorado is ready to hire even more Wildland Firefighters for the 2025 season.
USDA Forest Service Job Openings
The Rocky Mountain Region (Region 2) of the USDA Forest Service is looking ahead to the 2025 wildfire season and is calling for an additional 200 temporary firefighters who are willing to serve in Colorado and throughout Region 2 when needed (Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wyoming).
Employees would be deployed to grasslands and national forests to fill roles as engine operators, hotshot crew members, hand crew members, helitack crew members, fuels technicians, fire lookouts, dispatchers, and fire management positions.
