HWY 392 In Windsor Is Getting A Major And Much Needed Facelift

It's been due, overdue actually, for quite some time in the eyes of many and now, it's about to become a reality. Highway 392 in Windsor is about to get widened, according to The Coloradoan.

Every day during commute times, there are backups, and on many days, significant backups. That's about to be addressed with road construction expected to begin possibly as early as this summer.

There will be two areas in particular that have been trouble spots that will be addressed: the areas are between 17th Street and Colorado Boulevard and then from Colorado Boulevard to Highland Meadows Parkway.

The $2.7 million project will also include the relocation of a sewer line as well. There has been so much construction activity going on in that area over the past couple of years, and it looks like we're not done with orange barrels over there quite yet.

With the completion of this project, 392 would officially be two lanes in each direction from I-25 to Downtown Windsor.

Don't even get me started on that mess during certain times of the day between schools letting out, rush hour, and just the overall amount of cars on the road but that's another issue for another time.

This week, workers will be collecting data through surveys of the land to help town staff determine the next steps for the widening project and help set a timeline for work.
