The Victim Services program for Fort Collins Police Services needs volunteer victim advocates.

Victim advocates help crime victims with emotional support and crisis intervention, while providing info for victim compensation benefits, and updates of the early stages of the victim’s case. Advocates are available all day, every day through the entire year.

Advocates provide information on the criminal justice system, resources in the community, aid in acquiring emergency shelter, and facilitate other immediate needs.

Advocates are on-call for one 12-hour shift per week.

According to the City of Fort Collins, "applicants will be required to have a criminal history check, go through a background investigation, and will be required to attend a 45-hour training program prior to being placed in an on-call capacity".
