Summer is officially halfway over, and there are still so many things I want to do with my family. Every year we make a bucket list, and I feel like we always end up the summer without doing everything on the list.

But this year is different because I'm determined to make those memories, but that means I've gotta get moving before summer ends.

So let's put the list together and get cracking.

Denver Zoo

Okay, so this one isn't in Northern Colorado, but it's a must for summer vacation. Our family loves the variety of animals. With over 2,500 different species, you can easily spend an entire day at the Denver Zoo.

You can also feel good about the visit because the zoo is technically a non-profit and a lot of money is donated back to wildlife funds.

Fort Collins Museum of Discovery

Located in Fort Collins, this is a family favorite every summer. There are so many different categories, from music to history to animals, and there are so many things to learn at the Museum of Discovery.

And if you buy a season pass, you'll save money, and it comes with some serious perks. And with an in-house cafe, you can easily spend a full day at the museum.

Cache La Poudre River

Tubing, swimming, and fishing all sound pretty amazing during the heat of the summer, and that's why my family makes it a point to spend at least a day at the Cache La Poudre River in Fort Collins.

It's so relaxing and easy to just pack a lunch and float down the river all day long. Plus, the scenery is gorgeous. Heaven on Earth.
