Colorado Wildfires Have Burned More Than 100,000 Acres
Numerous wildfires have started over the past couple of days in Colorado, and thousands of acres have been burned as a result.
As of July 1, 2026, seven active wildfires are burning within the state of Colorado, and the combined burn area from the fires is vast.
How Many Acres Have Burned in Colorado's Latest Wildfires
Over 100,000 acres of land have been burned by the seven active Colorado wildfires according to watchduty.org.
Snyder Fire
This wildfire in Western Colorado is on the Utah border, has burned 30,192 acres, and has 10 percent containment.
Gold Mountain Fire
Burning in the counties of Gunnison, Montrose, and Ouray, the Gold Mountain Fire has burned 14,960 acres with 0% containment.
Red Rock Fire
The Red Rock Fire is another wildfire blazing in Mesa County, Colorado. Currently, the Red Rock Fire has burned 310.5 acres and, thankfully, is at 95 percent containment.
Ferris Fire
The Ferris Fire is burning in the counties of Dolores and Montezuma and has burned 23,287 acres, with 0% containment.
Willow Fire
Burning in Lake County, Colorado, the Willow Fire has set ablaze 2,011 acres, and no containment has been achieved while crews battle the blaze.
Aspen Acres Fire
The Aspen Acres Fire is currently the largest wildfire in the state of Colorado. 35,467 acres have been burned in Custer and Pueblo Counties, and the fire has no containment.
Sheep Head Fire
This wildfire burning in Huerfano County, Colorado, is approximately 1,148 acres, and crews have been able to reach 50% containment.
