A former CSU Rams football player just got paiiiiiiiid big time by the NFL.

Colorado State Football shared via Twitter on Tuesday afternoon (Mar. 16) that former CSU Ram Shaquil Barrett has signed a 4-year contract extension with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers worth $72 million.

According to ESPN, the reigning Super Bowl champions and the star pass-rusher agreed to a four-year deal that includes $36 million fully guaranteed, his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The base deal averages $17 million per season with incentives that push it to $18 million annually. Escalators include 15 sacks and reaching the playoffs the year prior.

Barrett's salary in 2021 will be $1.25 million; he also has an $18.75 million signing bonus prorated over five years to lower his salary-cap charge with a voidable fifth year.

ESPN Stats & Information indicate that Barrett played last season for $15.8 million and recorded eight sacks in 15 games. He also lead the NFL last season with 74 pressures.

Before joining Tampa Bay prior to the 2019 season on a one-year deal worth $5 million, Barrett had limited playing time as a rotational player with the Denver Broncos; he signed with the club as an undrafted free agent back in 2014.

Over the course of seven seasons, Barrett has had 41.5 sacks, 15 forced fumbles and 266 tackles in 92 regular-season games.

Barrett was the No. 2 available player on the NFL's top 101 free agents list.

By the looks and sound of his latest Instagram post, I think it's safe to say Shaq's pretty pumped about his future with the Bucs.
