Denver’s Airport Ranked as One of the Worst For This Reason
I've always thought it would be interesting to travel a lot for work. Sure, it would be great to travel to a different state or country to conduct business, but it would probably get really old pretty darn fast.
As an adult, I usually only fly on occasion for certain reasons. Most of those reasons are a vacation. So if something happens such as a flight delay, it doesn't disrupt my everyday life. A flight delay to start my vacation would be pretty inconvenient, however.

Denver International Airport is one of the biggest airports in the United States with flights going to all sorts of places day in and day out. With the sheer size of Denver International Airport, there are bound to be some type of hiccups and delays. Add in factors like wind and severe weather to the mix, and you have a recipe for a delayed or canceled flight.

According to airhelp.com, Denver International Airport was ranked as one of the worst airports in the nation for flight disruptions in February 2025. Coming in at number seven, Denver International Airport saw an average of 26.3 percent of scheduled flights delayed last month.

Honestly, I would rather have my flight delayed for a few hours than risk taking off or landing in less-than-ideal weather conditions at Denver International Airport. A couple of years ago when returning home from vacation, we had to divert our flight to Dallas at the last minute due to wind shear. Needless to say, it was one of those plane rides that I will never forget. At least, we made it home safely, the next day.
The worst airports in the nation for flight disruptions last month were all mainly located in the northeast part of the United States.
- John F. Kennedy Airport - 26.9 percent of flights disrupted
- Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport - 27.9 percent of flights disrupted
- Boston Logan International Airport - 31.9 percent of flights disrupted
- Ronald Reagan National Airport - 40.2 percent of flights disrupted
