Denver International Airport Sets Numerous Records in 2024
Denver International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the United States. If you have ever traveled through the airport, you know how chaotic it can be. I have traveled to and from Denver International Airport many times in my life, just never during the height of the busy season.
Millions of travelers make their way through Colorado's biggest airport every month. Either by flying into, out of, or making a connection in the massive airport.
Denver International Airport announced that a new record was set in 2024 with millions of passengers at the airport last year. According to the press release, a staggering 82.3 million were inside the airport in 2024.

In 2023, Denver's airport saw 77.8 million passengers, and in 2024, it was the first time that the airport has ever had 80 million travelers. The airport also set a record in all 12 months of 2024 for international passenger traffic.
Denver International Airport Breaks Numerous Records in 2024
While Denver International Airport may have had the busiest year on record ever last year, there were also many other records that were broken in 2024. Here are a few notable records:
- All-time passenger traffic records were set for 11 out of the 12 months in 2024.
- The three busiest months ever have been June, July, and August 2024.
- Sunday, July 7, was the busiest day ever at Denver's TSA checkpoints with more than 90,000 passengers screened.

Millions of bags also went through Denver International Airport in 2024. A total cargo volume of more than 732 million tons passed through the airport. For those who don't like doing math, that is 1.4 trillion pounds of baggage. To me, that is truly amazing.
