Do Coloradans Have Nasty Teeth? Here Is Your Answer
Have you been to the dentist lately? I’m long overdue for a dental appointment, and while I’m not afraid of the dentist’s chair, I am scared of the bill. We all know that the longer you wait, the bigger the issue will be, so it might be time to make an appointment for myself.
Do the majority of people in Colorado have issues like I do? Do we have healthier teeth than most? Here is what we found.
Teeth and Colorado: A Love Story
Coloradans take phenomenal care of their teeth, according to a recent study by The Dental SEO Company. They took a look at the best and worst states for dental health and it is obvious that Coloradans make dental health more of a priority than other states.
The Dental SEO Company analyzed data from the CDC and ADA that gave insights into oral health. They looked at smoking rates, access to dental care, state spending, and more.
They even looked at each state's water systems. Here is why Coloradans have better and healthier teeth than most states.
Why Coloradans Have Healthier Teeth Than Most
According to the data, over 70 percent of Coloradans still have all of their teeth. That is primarily because Coloradans go to the dentist far more often than other states. The average Coloradan spends $542 a year on dental visits. Additionally, 84 percent of children go to the dentist and 66 percent of adults regularly go to the dentist.
36 percent of Americans have a fear of the dentist. The biggest fear of dental offices is that the numbing medicine will not work.
