There is a lot of great beer in Colorado. If you love beer, you will love Colorado. I am a resident of Fort Collins and I feel incredibly spoiled. There are so many great breweries in town that it can be overwhelming at times. It is a great problem to have.

Colorado distributes tasty beer, and our state breweries are also great to hang out at. Breweries in Colorado are, for the most part, family-friendly, welcoming, and a great place for people to get together. Plus, there are plenty of fun events ranging from trivia nights to New Belgium Brewing's Tour de Fat in Fort Collins.

It's true. Before I looked at the map I assumed that Colorado's favorite beer was going to be Coors. I was ready to roll my eyes. Blue Moon is actually a Coors beer that is made in Denver.

It is cool to see that even though Colorado's favorite beer is commercially sold across the country, our favorite beer is brewed right here at home.

Brewing beer in Colorado is nothing new. However, circa 1988, the art of craft brewing took off at warp speed in the Centennial State. Let's explore the history and evolution of Colorado's craft beer industry from its early beginnings to its current prominence.

Brewers began appearing in Colorado in 1858, years before the area was recognized as a state. A handful of people made a few bucks here and there producing small batches and selling it to miners around the state. Fast forward to 2023, and the craft brew industry is a force to be reconned with. Here's a quick look as to how Colorado got from point A to B.
