How Colorado Compares to Other States

According to a study from Mailgo, Colorado actually ranked sixth in the nation when it comes to statewide population being effected by scams.

The five states that rank higher than the Centennial State are:

  1. Nevada
  2. Arizona
  3. California
  4. Wyoming
  5. Washington

From the looks of the data, Coloradans see approximately 2 complaints for every 1,000 citizens. The Centennial State also ranks 11th when it comes to actual financial losses from scams.

How Much Money Coloradans Lose to Scams

Average Financial Loss Per Resident

On average, each Colorado resident loses $40.88 in scams every year. It's clear that scammers are targeting Western states. Only four out of the top ten states in this study were located outside of the western part of the United States.
