I truly believe that some animals have souls and deserve the best from their human companions. At Christmas, dogs and cats at shelters get left out and they deserve some love as well.

A friend of mine. Monica Meisner, loves all things big and small with 4 feet. She recently started a project so that dogs and cats at the animal shelters in Larmimer County don't get left out at Christmas and let's be honest, the shelters that help these animals need the donations anyway.

Drop off locations are at Jax Ranch and Home (N U.S. Highway 287) and also the Dog Pawlour (2005 S College Ave) in Fort Collins and at Hot Rod Dog Grooming in Windsor. Saturday, December 18 will be the final day to donate and then items will distributed on Monday, December 20 to Animal House Fort Collins, Larimer Humane Society and the Fort Collins Cat Rescue.

Items needed:

  • Dog and Cat Food
  • Blankets
  • Chew Toys, Rawhide Sticks, Rolls and Nyla Bones
  • Kitten Replacement Milk
  • Tuna and Sardines in Oil
  • Dog Bisquits
  • Cat Scratchers
  • Slinky Toys for Cats and Squeaky Toys for Dogs
  • Any other items you can think of
I personally will be getting involved by donating some items and it's my wish you will follow me in doing so as well. A few small items from all of us will go a long way. For more information on how to donate or becoming a donation drop off location please email Monica Meisner.
