Is it Ok to Still Have Christmas Decorations Up This Spring in CO?
Easter has passed, and many enjoyed the holiday as they got to spend time with family, the weather was beautiful, and there was candy being eaten and eggs being found. When most people think of Easter, they think of spring. They think of warm sunshine, warmer weather, and some think of the reason for the season. Yes, Easter is a religious holiday, and another religious holiday that many enjoy is Christmas. It happens in winter and has been months since Christmas took place, yet you wouldn't know it from some homes in Northern Colorado. Is it still ok to have Christmas lights up in the spring in Colorado?
Christmas Lights in Spring in Colorado
Christmas happened three months ago, and most put their decorations, their lights, and their wrapping paper away long ago, but for some, they haven't been able to move on from the holiday season yet. During the winter, you are forgiven for leaving Christmas lights up in Colorado, as nobody wants to get out in the cold weather, the snow, the wind, and freeze to death taking down decorations. Leaving them up is one thing, but turning them on is different. Some people in Colorado still have their decorations up in April, and a select few are still turning them on at night as well. While most will not complain about Christmas in April, it does raise an eyebrow and make you wonder if perhaps it's time to take them down or turn them off at night.
Christmas in April in Colorado
Having lights on a home year-round is not uncommon these days. Many homes are decorated with lights that stay up and can change colors depending on the holiday. the person's favorite sports team, or whatever color they want to show off that day. When someone still has up decorations that are specifically for Christmas, though, it is a little different, and it might be time to take them down. Yes, some enjoy Christmas every day, but April is a little late to still have decorations up. For those unaware, if you do enjoy Christmas and can't wait until the holiday season to get into the spirit, there is a place in Colorado where you can enjoy the holiday during the summer. The North Pole, outside of Colorado Springs, allows visitors to see Santa throughout the offseason, see his reindeer, and put themselves in the holiday spirit. You can find out more about the park by clicking the link above.

The holiday season is the best time of the year, but April is not the time to be celebrating. If you have Christmas decorations up, it might be time to take them down. The holiday season will be in time, and if you can't wait, you now know where you can go to get your fill until December arrives.
