Is It Against the Law to Own a Sloth in Colorado?
Colorado is filled with many animal lovers, and it isn't uncommon to see someone out walking their dog or to see a cat in someone's window. While these are the two most common pets, they aren't the only kind that people in Colorado own. Some prefer a reptile and have a snake, some prefer having fish to make things easier, and others prefer a small pet like a hamster, a lizard, or a frog. There are a variety of animals you can own, but if you are looking to own a more exotic animal, what is off limits, and what can you own? Is it legal to own a sloth in the state of Colorado?

Owning a Kangaroo in Colorado
While owning a sloth is off the table in Colorado, you can still own an exotic animal legally here by having your very own kangaroo. While you can legally own one, there is a lot that comes with it. They are social animals and will need to be around other creatures, preferably other kangaroos, and you will need plenty of space to let them hop around. If you live in an apartment or have a small backyard, owning a kangaroo may not be for you. If a kangaroo isn't what you are looking for, you can also legally own a yak, a camel, or a wallaby.
