It all came down to a couple of local schools competing for the 4A Volleyball State Championship. Windsor High School and Thompson Valley High School took the court and in 3 hotly contested sets but in the end, it was the ladies from Thompson Valley that claimed their second consecutive state title.

The Windsor Wizards put up a great fight but it wasn't quite enough to stop the machine that is Thompson Valley Eagles Volleyball.

Eagles coach Lester Thorne had this to say after winning state:

"We always talk about how hard it is to beat a good team twice and we beat this team three times this year," "It's really tough. Everybody makes little corrections here and there. We knew they weren't going to stop battling. Everything was close. The whole thing was close the entire time. The girls realized that they don't like losing as much as they like winning. They really fight to not lose."

TVHS capped off their second consecutive state title season with a record of 27-2 which included 3 wins against the Windsor Wizards, one in the regular season and twice during the state tournament.

Congratulations to Thompson Valley High School and the girls Volleyball team along with their parents and families.

A tremendous fight from the ladies who represented Windsor High School in an awesome way. As much as losing a state title hurts, they should hold their heads up high and be extremely proud.
