For those hoping to be done with yard care, skipping fall care could cost you dearly in the spring. Typically, homes that don't prepare their yard in the fall end up paying 1.5 to 2 times more the following spring to get their yard where it should be. Make sure to overseed bare patches, adjust your mowing height this fall, fertilize, and aerate. You will also need to clean up your leaves, and one way to do this more quickly is by using your mower to get as much as you can. Be careful to empty the catcher often, as if you let the leaves pile up too much, it can damage your mower. You will still have to rake leaves, but this will help lessen the load and save time if you do it right.

The clock is ticking, and soon yardwork will be done for the year, but you still have to do a little more before that time is here. To find out more about preparing your yard this fall and yardwork burnout, make sure to click the link in the second paragraph above.
