The Twisted Noodle (1335 West Elizabeth)

The Twisted Noodle on Elizabeth pulls up the top spot in these Yelp rankings, with 4.5 stars out of 81 reviews. Here is one review they have on the site, "I had looked for Italian food in Fort Collins on Yelp, and this is the only one that has 5 star reviews! The restaurant is in Campus West, across from the McDonald's on Elizabeth. It's unassuming on the outside. We parked in the back where there is a largish lot shared with all the other local restaurants there.

We walked up to the ordering area, and there is a huge menu on the back wall there. It tells of the main dishes, the favorites, the gluten free options, the protein that can be added, salads, soups, garlic bread, desserts, and sandwiches available.

I had the Lemon Creme Angel (see photo I posted) and it was delicious. It had fresh asparagus, the pasta was a good size serving, cooked perfectly, and the sauce bright and tasty!

My bf had the Pasta Carbonara. He loved it, and said he ate too much. I tried it and it was too spicy for me. (I have no chili gene) :) The bacon was really flavorful though.

We ordered a side order of 2 pieces of garlic bread ($2.50) that came with a small dish of marinara that we didn't even need to use. The sauce and cheese and buttery goodness had pepperoni slices on it, and melted in our mouths.

I am definitely coming back. The price, the friendly quick service, and quality of the food all combined to make it a great, enjoyable experience. I want more!"

Bisetti's Italian Restaurant (120 South College Avenue)

Bisetti's is a well known stop throughout Northern Colorado, and their reviews reflect that as they receive four stars out of 136 reviews. Here is what one reviewer recently stated, "This place is great! Well priced, huge portions and wonderful service! I had the crab and shrimp alfredo and my husband had the salmon risotto. Both were great and neither of us could finish our meals because there was so much! We also started with the calamari which was lightly breaded. Totally worth the hype!"

Cacciatore at Heller's Kitchen (1939 Jessup Drive)

Cacciatore at Heller's Kitchen is new to the Fort Collins food scene but is already making an impact with 4.5 stars out of 32 reviews. As one reviewer states, "4.5 stars. Modern Italian in a casual atmosphere. Inside was small but boisterous, so we sat outside. Very charming al fresco dining area at Jessup Farm.

Enjoyed the roasted garlic & harissa spreads with the breads. Excellent Beef Carpaccio. House salads were just okay.

Entrees were well prepared- very nice Duck Confit & good Lasagne Bolognese, but would have preferred meat layered into the lasagne rather than on the side.

Decent wine list. Would have appreciated more by the glass options. Very nice selection of cocktails and aperitifs including honey grappa and limoncello.

Excellent service. Owners were on hand checking in with guests.

Gluten-free options including zucchini "noodles" and GF bread, pizza, pasta, and gnocchi.

    Great for date night."

    Paninos Restaurant (310 West Prospect)

Panino's may be a bit off the beaten path for some people. But with a location right near the new CSU football stadium, you may need to make this a priority to check out. They receive 4 stars out of 86 reviews, with one reviewer stating, "We were in Fort Collins just for the week and this restaurant was in walking distance of our hotel. The food tasted very authentic and homemade - everything from the blue cheese dressing to the meatballs and sauce. We had the manicotti, lasagna, baked mac 'n cheese and of course their namesake the"panino", all were so amazing! Our server was very friendly and tentative. I highly recommend this restaurant and wish it was in California!"

Canino's Italian Restaurant (613 South College Avenue)

Canino's pulls up the number five spot on our list, with four stars out of 52 reviews. One reviewer says, "Clyde and his crew create a wide variety of Italian delicacies with a minimum of fuss. The service is always superb and the food consistent. The former home in which Camino's operates is warm and inviting with beautiful woodwork throughout. Large groups are welcome in the similarly appointed second floor.

I've been going to Canino's for more than 30 years and have never been disappointed."
