A Kid’s Place CASA Program and Child Advocacy Center will hold its first annual 5K/1K/Kids Superhero Run and Family Event on Saturday September 14th at St. Michael’s Townsquare in Greeley. This is near and dear to my heart.

The second annual SAVA Soiree is Thursday, September 12th at 6 p.m. at The Hilton Fort Collins. All of the money I goes to the Sexual Assault Victim Advocate Center.

When my two youngest children died in June of 2012, I was devastated. Yes, parts of me still are and those parts will never mend. But there was a group of women that set out long ago to make this transition a little less uncomfortable. Nobody can take away the pain, but these women were there to listen, to be still, to hold my hand.

I talked to a very impressive young man this week about MDA and the "Fill-The-Boot" campaign. Hunter just happens to be in a wheel chair because of Muscular Dystrophy, but what really stands out about him is his drive to succeed and how he uses his own personal experience to be a positive influence in other people's lives.

Giving children the opportunity to share in experiences, gain courage, experience, and life long friendships and memories. That's what The Children's Hospital Colorado Burn Camps Program hopes to offer its campers when they partake in the amazing experience that is their summer camp...

April is National Volunteer Month! A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to join my co-workers at Townsquare Media in volunteering at the Weld Food Bank.  It was really cool.  Over the past 25 years I have literally volunteered to host or be a part of hundreds of events in Northern Colorado, but this was different!

I was on the K99 Trivia bowl team again over the weekend.  We didn't do very well, but the good news is the ChildSafe Trivia bowl raised thousands of dollars to help victims of child abuse in Northern Colorado.   At least 2 or 3 of us are fairly bright (snicker, snicker), but here is how we lost:
