George Strait to Stop Touring – The Cowboy Rides Away

Is George Strait retiring? Strait has announced that his 2013-2014 “The Cowboy Rides Away” tour will be his last.

At a press conference at Nashville’s Country Music Hall of Fame today, Strait revealed he’ll embark on his final tour January 18th in Lubbock, TX, with Martina McBride.  He was careful to note that careful to note that retirement is not imminent.

The 60-year-old will continue to record and issue singles through MCA, and he will continue to perform at select dates.
