Greeley School District Accepts Manning T-Shirts

The Greeley-Evans School District 8 found itself in rare national headlines after a 3rd grader was prevented from wearing a Peyton Manning Denver Broncos because the number 18 is banned from students’ clothing due to its connection with the local 18th Street Gang.
According to GreeleyTribune.com, the NFL sent 1,000 jerseys to the school with the slogan ‘Peyton Knows’, and for a short period of time, the district considered sending them back because it may have reignited the controversy that put the school’s dress code under intense scrutiny.
Because the shirts did not have a number on them, the district decided to keep them and will eventually distribute them to the students.
Why the NFL sent the shirts to the school is unknown, and the NFL has not given a reason or commented on the situation.
