Is Winter Weather Done This Season in CO?
This winter has been an odd one in Colorado. It wasn't what most are used to, and if anything, it would likely be labeled as 'disappointing'. For those new to the state, they may have enjoyed not having to drive in as much snow as usual, but for most residents, it was shocking not to see the normal snowfall that comes through the winter months. For anyone who has visited Colorado frequently or lived here for a while, they know that despite the calendar saying it is spring, winter weather can still often occur. Is winter officially done in Colorado, or could there be some last-second snow coming to the Centennial State?
Is Winter Weather Done in Colorado?
March 20 marked the first day of spring, but in Colorado, that doesn't necessarily mean anything, as it isn't uncommon for snow to still cover the mountains and hit the state in April or even in May in some years. This past winter has not been the norm, though, as it was one of the driest in many years, and some have stated that winter never truly arrived in the state because of the lack of consistent cold weather, lack of ice, and lack of snow. Could Mother Nature be playing a trick, though, and have a late winter storm in the forecast for the state? Looking ahead, it looks like winter has decided to move on this year. There are some chilly mornings in the forecast, some wind and rain, but nothing that comes across as winter weather.
What is the Weather Forecast in Northern Colorado?
Looking ahead, it would appear that any chance of winter weather is fading by the day. Looking at the 10-day forecast, temperatures will remain above freezing, with highs varying from the low to mid-50s, all the way up to the low 70s. There will be some windy days, some chances of rain, but no snow in the forecast. If the weather continues to trend this way going into May, it is likely to stay pretty dry and begin getting warmer going into next month. Mother Nature can change on a dime, but the chances of snow or winter weather coming seem to be all but gone moving forward. For once, it looks like it might be safe to assume spring has officially begun.

It might be wise to leave out a jacket or two just in case, but for this season, it appears that winter is over, and residents of Colorado can begin having some fun outdoors on weekends moving forward without having to bundle up.
