Is there a bridge in Weld County that is flood proof? The new Cache la Poudre Bridge on the WCR 49 Parkway performed just as it was designed during the recent flooding. The bridge was designed and built with a minimum five-foot clearance above the 100-year flood elevation line to allow debris to pass under the structure and also happens to be the longest bridge in Weld County.

Not only is the bridge built to withstand flooding, but the entire WCR 49 Parkway is designed to remain functional during a flood as large as the one experienced in 2013.

The WCR 49 Parkway is scheduled to open this fall.
