Vestas headquarters announced that the Brighton Blades facility will no longer be producing blades, with Windsor taking on that production.

According to a press release, Vestas Blades America is 'consolidating it's Colorado workforce', which will include laying off 450 employees across the state. That means other employees will be added in Windsor.

The Brighton Blades facility will cease making wind turbine blades while becoming Vestas' North American Headquarters for its Global Tooling business, which will essentially move six locations across Colorado under one roof.

From the Vestas press release:

To protect jobs and ensure a continued strong Vestas footprint in Colorado, Vestas will support the impacted colleagues, pending eligibility, in transitioning to other roles in growing parts of the organization such as the Service business which supports the lifetime operations and maintenance of wind park assets.

I reached out to Stacy Miller, Director of Economic Development for the Town of Windsor who commented:

The Town anticipates gaining an additional 150 employees do to the layoffs and restructuring at the other Colorado facilities.  Our regional partners at Upstate Colorado have already reached out to us and the other Weld facility in Brighton to connect any employees affected by this change with the correct resources, including the Employment Center of Weld County.

According to the Vestas press release, the company, with 29,000 employees (before the current layoffs,) has more than 132 Gigawatts of wind turbines in 82 countries.
