Again? Major Colorado Business Cutting 12,000 Jobs
Tough times are coming for a lot of Colorado workers in the shipping and receiving business. 2024 has been a challenging year for many businesses in Colorado. 38% of companies nationwide have reported that there will be layoffs this year.
Major companies in tech and the clothing industry have already announced layoffs this year and it is unfortunately only going to get worse.

The biggest delivery service company in the United States is cutting thousands of jobs and changing its corporate structure.
UPS Laying Off Workers in 2024
The United Parcel Service announced they will be laying off 12,000 workers in 2024. UPS is trying to save $1 billion this year and they feel like the easiest way to do that is to eliminate positions in the company.
We want to emphasize that the 12,000 workers whose jobs will be eliminated will be throughout the United States.
The 12,000 workers will not be directly fired in Colorado, but we are concluding that many Coloradans will be losing their jobs fairly soon.
Remote Worker Changes in Colorado As Well
Remote work is now commonplace in our society since the pandemic. More people are working remotely than ever and that number is going to continue to grow. Once many of us started working from home, there was no turning back.
I have a lot of friends who work remotely. They have told me they plan on working remotely for the rest of the year. Some of my friends work hybrid. They go to the office two or three days a week.
UPS will also require remote workers to go back to the office five days a week. This is assuming that those workers are not terminated. We anticipate many remote workers will decide to leave the company because they want to continue working remotely.
